Our Story
Purple Pearl Med Spa was founded by registered nurse and aesthetic specialist Wendy Banks, RN, LE who brings more than two decades of experience in healthcare and aesthetics.
Wendy’s journey into skincare started from a very personal place. As a young adult, she struggled with acne, hyperpigmentation, and scarring. At the time, treatment options were limited and often harsh, which led her to begin researching skincare, ingredients, and treatments on her own. That curiosity eventually turned into a passion for helping others feel more comfortable and confident in their skin.
She pursued training in aesthetics before completing nursing school and began working alongside a reconstructive plastic surgeon, where she slowly built an aesthetics practice within the medical setting. Over time, her patient base grew through relationships, trust, and word of mouth.
In 2017, Wendy took a leap of faith and opened Purple Pearl Med Spa in downtown New Albany. The name itself came from the location on Pearl Street and represented a fresh start and a new chapter. With the help of family, friends, and a loyal community of patients, the space was renovated and opened to patients who had followed her throughout her career.
Since then, Purple Pearl has continued to grow into one of the region’s most trusted aesthetic destinations, serving patients from Southern Indiana, Louisville, and beyond.
